Visit Timisoara
Timisoara is the capital city of Timis County, being located on the banks of Bega River.
The city is among the top destinations visited by tourists in Romania, due to its architectural diversity (Baroque, Historicism, Neoclassicism, Art Nouveau and Wiener Secession), but also to the largest architectural ensemble of historic buildings in Romania (approx. 14,500), consisting of the urban heritage of the Cetate, Iosefin, Fabric and Elisabetin neighbourhoods.
There are many nature reserves in the area that house a large number of rare plant and animal species, protected by law. Near Satchinez, 25 km from Timisoara, is the most important ornithological reservation in the west of the country (Satchinez Swamps and Murani Swamps), and at Beba the ornithological reservation Beba Veche.
If you are looking for adventure, you can go to the Poiana Rusca Mountains for climbing, hiking and to the adventure park from Nadrag, at the foot of Pades Peak, for climbing, zip lines, bungee jumping, paintball.
If you love water, you can go to Lake Surduc, for swimming, paw swimming, diving, snorkelling, kiteboarding, water skiing, scuba diving, fishing. Rowing and kayaking can be practiced on the Bega Canal, and rafting on the Timis River.
